Farley Mowat summed up the biggest problems we're facing in 2014 back in 1976

At a time when a book about the biggest crisis in the history of capitalism tops the best seller list and the President of the United States speaks openly about how climate change is "not some distant problem of the future," this is a good time to look back at comments Farley Mowat made in 1976.

Mowat, who died this week at the age 92, was an icon of Canadian literature and a fierce advocate for the environment.
